5 Things I’m Spending My Money on This Year to Grow My Business

Growing a business requires a lot of time and energy. Too often, these elements are spent on mundane tasks or everyday responsibilities that can easily be outsourced or streamlined to clear up space in your schedule and your mind for more pressing or important matters.

Let me tell you what I mean by that. Check out these 5 things I’m spending my money on this year to grow my business in an efficient and stress-free way.

Furthering My Education

As with any industry, the business of short-term rentals is constantly evolving. To keep up with the ever-shifting landscape, I’m investing in educational opportunities like masterminds and courses to grow my own business and to pass along to and benefit the women I have the opportunity to work with and coach.

Outsourcing Personal Tasks

For everyone, especially women, it seems personal tasks, like grocery shopping, cooking, and cleaning, are neverending, but they don’t have to be totally time-consuming. With Instacart, you can do all your grocery shopping online and get items delivered directly to your door. This saves you from having to drive to the store and roam around until you find what you need.

If work is running late and you have nothing planned for dinner, Postmates is another delivery service that partners with restaurants throughout the country. And of course, every city has its own local cleaning services. Find one within your budget, so you can spend less time tidying your home and more time on business growth.

Outsourcing Business Tasks

Being a business owner doesn’t mean you have to personally control every single company task. For example, raising brand awareness and attracting a target audience is no easy feat. Hiring a marketing agency can take that responsibility off your hands and expand your business’ reach.

One of my main business tasks as a short-term rental owner is ensuring my rentals are always fully stocked and in pristine condition. I use Instacart and Amazon to replenish my stock. This means I don’t have to go from store to store to find what I need, and the items are delivered right to my door.

Utilizing Business Automation Tools

Living in the 21st century means we now have numerous technological tools available to streamline certain processes, like bookkeeping and managing customer communication. To automate pricing for my short-term rentals, I use PriceLabs, so I don’t have to manually research market rates or track booking trends. The platform does it for me automatically.

Hospitable is another tool that comes in handy when managing short-term rentals. By sending personalized, automated messages, this tool provides prompt communication with your guests, giving them the information they need, while simultaneously saving you hours of time by not having to respond to every single inquiry. It’s a win-win.

Prioritizing Self-Care

Even with these helpful services, being a business owner is still a challenging and draining job, which can affect your productivity. If you feel like your battery is running on low, recharge it with your favorite self-care activity. I like to unwind with Melissa Wood’s structured workouts and meditations. The Ten Percent Happier app also provides sleep meditations along with courses on reducing stress and establishing healthier habits.

Spending leisure time with your loved ones is another sure way to relax and recharge. I do weekly date nights with my husband. This gives me time to step back and reconnect, helping me refresh my mind to prepare for the next step in growing my business.
